10. When and how will it be delivered?
Ask for the standard shipping time if it's not stated up front. Normally, the average shipping time is 5 to 8 weeks. Quick ship programs run anywhere from next day to 30 days. Generally, Contract Furniture (by my definition) takes longer than Commercial Furniture (by my definition). Most manufactureres have a "force majeure" clause to protect them from events beyond their control (like a UPS strike).

Most furniture ships from the manufacturer by common carrier. A small order (LTL - less than truck=load) will arrive at a nearby freigt company and be transferred to a smaller truck for local delivery. If you haven't specified (and paid for) inside delivery, you'll have to make arrangements to move your purchase from the tail gate of the truck. If you don't have a loading dock this can be very hard to do. In addition, you often have to do some assembly (or a lot) and you have to dispose of the crating.

Paying 15% more to a full service dealer or purchasing the services of an installation and assembly company looks much better after you've done this a couple of times.
