Storage Cabinets and Carts Defined
A. File Cabinets: Specifically designed for paper document storage, usually using specific filing systems including: Hanging, End-tab, and other systems. Cabinet configurations include:
1. Vertical: Usually front-to-back filing. Cabinets available in legal and letter widths and a variety of depths. height depends on number of drawers (5 maximum).

2. Lateral: Generally side-to-side filing, but can be set up as front-to-back. Drawers can be set up to accommodate either letter or legal size folders. Some cabinets are available to accommodate xrays and other oversize documents.

3. High-Density: Use a number of mechanisms to increase storage capabilities and take advantage of minimal storage space. Systems include: Stackable end-tab type archival storage, mobile cabinets are rotating or sliding side-to-side or front-to-back, manual, mechanical or motorized operation, and data retrieval systems.
B. Desk Pedestals: Metal, wood, laminate, plastic. Hanging (Surface supported), Free-standing, or Mobile. Generally with file, box and pencil size drawers in a variety of configurations. Letter or legal width. European sizes may be different from US. File drawers usually designed to accommodate hanging files.

C. Media Storage: Variety of configurations specifically designed for specialty storage: Flat files (drawings), Data/Media files; Tape reels, Disks (Floppy, CD-ROM, Laser), Cassettes, Video cassettes, etc.

D. General Storage: Enclosed storage for supplies and equipment: Metal, Wood, Plastic, etc.

E. Security: Safes, Fire Safes, etc.

F. Bookcases / Shelving: Library stacks, Storage and supplies shelving, Bookcases, Fixed and Adjustable, Mobile, Display, etc.

G. Healthcare: Pharmacy, Glassware, Equipment

H. Industrial: Warehouse Racking, Mobile Parts, Mezzanine, Hazardous Material, etc.
